Clemson FCA is a non-profit, non-denominational student-led ministry on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. We are an affiliate of the nationally-recognized Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which was originally founded in 1954. FCA’s vision is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Their mission is to present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
In applying that mission and vision to Clemson University, we have developed the tagline ‘Loving God, Loving Campus’. We achieve this by having a time of worship and fellowship every Thursday night, building community with small groups, reaching out to other students with campus missions, and impacting another city on our yearly mission trip. If any of this sounds interesting come check us out on Thursday night at 9:19 in Tillman auditorium.
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.
-1 Corinthians 12:12-14
We’re big fans of the local church. We believe Jesus gave His life that we might be part of it – not only a part of the global Church, but individually part of local churches. Thursday nights are a great time of fellowship and worship, but we believe it is not a substitute for being involved in a local body of Christ. There are too many awesome churches in the area to count, but we listed a couple to the right.
Clemson FCA is made up of two parts of one whole ministry. One part is on staff Life Coaches for the sports teams here at Clemson. The other part is student led, and they meet at 9:19 in Tillman. We have 11 student leaders who have a ‘servant team’ under their leadership. Together the leaders and their teams help to make FCA possible. If you are interested in becoming involved, leadership and servant team members are chosen sometime during February and March. Applications for the positions as well as position descriptions will be made available on the home page at that time.
